Story of my School

SMA Negeri 15 Semarang, merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri yang ada di Semarang, yang beralamat di Jl. Kedungmundu Raya No. 34 Kec. Tembalang - Semarang. Sama dengan SMA pada umumnya di Indonesia masa pendidikan sekolah di SMA Negeri 15 Semarang ditempuh dalam waktu tiga tahun pelajaran, mulai dari Kelas X sampai Kelas XII.

SMA Negeri 15 Semarang beroperasi mulai Tahun Pelajaran 1991/1992. Pada awalnya SMA Negeri 15 Semarang masih bergabung dengan SMA Negeri 11 Semarang, karena gedung sekolahnya belum selesai pembuatannya.
Setelah pembangunan gedung selesai, tepatnya pada tanggal 2 Januari 1992, SMA Negeri 15 Semarang menempati gedung baru di Jalan Kedungmundu Raya No. 34 Semarang sampai sekarang. Tanggal 2 Januari tersebut yang menjadi Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) SMA Negeri 15 Semarang.

Kekalahan dalam Perang Salib (Crusade) menjadi pukulan yang sangat berat bagi musuh-musuh Islam. Setelah menduduki Al-Quds (Jerussalem) selama sekitar 88 tahun (1099-1187), pasukan Salib akhirnya hengkang. Pasukan kaum Muslimin di bawah pimpinan Shalahudin al-Ayyubi berhasil mengalahkan mereka. 

Memori ini masih terpelihara di mata musuh-musuh Islam dan melandasi sikap mereka. Sampai-sampai, pascaperistiwa 11 September, dengan dalih memerangi terorisme, Presiden Amerika Serikat George W. Bush mendeklarasikan, "This Crusade, this war on terrorism is going to take a while…" Ya, 'Perang Salib ini, perang melawan terorisme ini mungkin akan memakan waktu lama.' 

Kemenangan generasi Shalahuddin tentu tidak hadir secara tiba-tiba. Berbagai persiapan dan perubahan yang menyertai dalam banyak hal serupa dengan apa yang terjadi pada masa kini, termasuk fragmen keterpurukan yang menimpa sebelumnya.

Definition ( Social Function )
to entertain, to amuse, the reader with a story that deals with complications or problematic events which lead to a crisis and in turn finds a resolution

Generic Structure

  • Orientation :  Sets the scene: where and when the story happened introduces the participant of the story: who and what is involved in the story
  • Complication : Tells the beginning of the problem which leads to the crisis ( climax ) of the main participants
  • Resolution : the problem ( the crisis) is resolved, either in a happy ending or in a sad ( tragic) ending
  • Re-orientation : this is a closing remark to the story and it is optional. It consist of a moral lesson, advice or teaching from  the writer 
Languange Features
    
  1. Nouns: travelers, bundles, tree, road, etc
  2. Pronoun : they, their, its , it, etc
  3. Noun phrases : the dusty and road, a big old tree, etc
  4. Time connectives and conjunction : one day, a week, later, than, a long, a long time ago, when, etc.
  5. Adverb anf adverbial phrases: angrily, in horror, etc.
  6. Material processes: ( action verb): arrived, ate, went, laughed, etc.
  7. Verbal processes: ( saying verb): asked     


Example of Narrative

Situ Bagendit

Folklore from West Java

Nyai Bagendit was a widow. She was the richest person in the village. She had a very big house fill with a lot of jewellery. She also had many servants working for her. Nyai Bagendit was also known for her bad attitude. She did not like to help others.

Whenever the villagers needed some money, they borrowed the money from her. However, when they returned it, the villager had to pay double. If they were not able to return the debt, Nyi Bagedit would ask her servants to take the villagers belongings. Nyai Bagendit also hated beggars. She thought that beggars were lazy people. She never felt sorry to any beggars coming to her house.

So when the old beggar came to her house, Nyai Bagendit immediately to ask her to go.

"Go away you lazy old woman! Go out of my house!"

"Please, Nyai, give me some money or just give me some food. I'm so hungry," said the beggar.

"Food? You asked for food? This is my house not a restaurant. Go now! I dont want to see you here! Nyai Bagendit then threw a stone to the old beggar."

The old beggar was very sad.

She then said, "Nyai Bagedit, I know you are the riches person in this village. You have anything but you never help other people. You are not grateful to God. Wait for the punishment from God. You will be punished!"

The old beggar then left Nyai Bagedit's house.

"Ha ha ha! You are right. I'm the richest person here. So no one can punnish me, not even God can punish me!" Nyai Bagendit was very arrogant.

Nyai Bagendit then went back to her big house. Not long after that, an earhquake happened. Her house fell down. Nyai Bagendit cried for help.

"Help me! Somebody please help me!" But nobody listened her crying for help.

Nobody in the village felt the earthquake. amazingly, the earthquake only happened in Nyai Bagendit's house. The land was opened. It was so big that the entire Nyai Bagendit's house, and all her wealth were gone.

The villagers just wathes what happened to Nyai Bagendit and her house. They were amazed. They knew that God punished Nyai Bagendit for behaving badly and never helped other people.

Slowly, the place where Nyai Bagedit's house stood became lake. Since then, people named the lake as Situ Bagendit It means Lake of Bagendit.***

Justin Bieber duduki peringkat 1 daftar BILLBOAR 21 under 21

Justin Bieber mampu menuai kesuksesan saat usianya masih sangat muda. Hal ini mengantarkan penyanyi berumur 18 tahun tersebut di posisi teratas dalam daftar Billboard 21 Under 21, daftar para penyanyi top dunia berusia di bawah 21 tahun. Prestasi ini bukan hal baru bagi kekasih Selena Gomez tersebut, karena tahun lalu Justin juga sudah merajai daftar yang sama. Pihak Billboard berpendapat bahwa Justin Bieber masih menjadi fenomena di dunia hiburan internasional, ketenarannya bahkan belum meredup.
“Bieber adalah supernova dari semua bintang pop muda, dengan karismanya, popularitas, dan sedikit keangkuhan, ” ujarnya. “It’s Biebs’ world, dan kita beruntung hidup di dalamnya.”
Sementara itu posisi kedua diduduki oleh boyband Inggris One Direction. Grup beranggotakan 5 pemuda yang berusia antara 18-20 tahun ini langsung mencuri perhatian publik sejak pertama kali  muncul. Sedangkan di posisi ketiga, ada Demi Lovato yang baru berusia 20.
Bila Justin Bieber ada di posisi pertama, bagaimana dengan kekasihnya, Selena Gomez? Rupanya gadis belia berusia 20 tahun tersebut harus puas berada di posisi ke-6, padahal tahun lalu ia berada di posisi ke-3.
Daftar Billboard 21 Under 21 tak hanya didominasi oleh penyanyi-penyanyi asal Amerika atau Eropa. IU, penyanyi cantik asal Korea Selatan rupanya mampu menembus daftar tersebut dan duduk di posisi 15.

1.      What does it mean of warning?
verb (used with object)
1.to give notice, advice, or intimation to (a person, group,etc.) of danger, impending evil, possible harm, or anythingelse unfavorable: They warned him of a plot against him. Shewas warned that her life was in danger.
2.to urge or advise to be careful; caution: to warn a carelessdriver.
3.to admonish or exhort, as to action or conduct: She warnedher employees to be on time.
4.to notify, advise, or inform: to warn a person of an intendedvisit.
5.to give notice to (a person, group, etc.) to go, keep at adistance, etc. (often followed by away, off,  etc.): A signwarns trespassers off the grounds. A marker warned boats awayfrom the dock.

A warning means giving information of the danger or unexpected situation that my happen if a person does something. He/she wants that person will be more careful. When we see a snake on a tree, for example, we may shout our friends "Watch out" It means we inform them be careful and to pay attention to the snake.

A warning is usually in the form of imperative, but it may occur with the modal "must" and "should"

Expression of warning :

Here are other examples of expressing warning.
1.                  Your little sister wants to cross the busy street. Then you warn her to cross carefully by saying,"Mind the traffic!"
2.                  There is a long wire connected to the computer. At present you are using your computer and your little brother is playing a toy car behind the computer. You see what he is doing and warm,"Dont touch the wire!"
3.                  There is blackout in the neighbourhood. A father lights a lantern and puts it on the table. His son is amazed and plays with the lantern. When the father sees, he warns,"Keep away from the fire!" or "Don't play with the lantern!"
4.                  You are walking on the pavement with your friends in the rain. Suddenly you see a big hole on the pavement. You want your friends by pointing at the hole and saying,"Look out!"
5.                  In the zoo, many cages of wild animals are applied with a warning board saying,"Beware of the wild animals!"

ü  Giving Warning

We can use this way to warn someone or more about something that will happened. Some of the ways are just like giving commands to the others.
Examples of the structure:
a.Be careful, or you’ll...
b.Watch out, you might be...
c. Do not ...

Examples:
a.Be careful, or you’ll break my porcelain.
b.Watch out, you might be killed.
c.Hey! Those rocks upside are slippery, move away before it drop down to you!

ü  Responding to warning
Examples :
·         Talking or writing about suicide or death
·         Giving direct verbal cues, such as "I wish I were dead" and "I'm going to end it all"
·         Giving less direct verbal cues, such as "You will be better off without me," "What's the point of living?", "Soon you won't have to worry about me," and "Who cares if I'm dead, anyway?"
·         Isolating him- or herself from friends and family
·         Expressing the belief that life is meaningless
·         Giving away prized possessions
·         Exhibiting a sudden and unexplained improvement in mood after being depressed or withdrawn
·         Neglecting his or her appearance and hygiene
·         Dropping out of school or social, athletic, and/or community activities
·         Obtaining a weapon (such as a firearm) or another means of hurting him- or herself (such as prescription medications)


2.      Example of the dialog:
Andi : Hello, man. What are you doing here?
Zaki : Hello, too.Well, I’m repairing whole of thishouse. There are so much rusts on it. So, be careful with the things in this house.
Andi : Is that so? This fence looks in good condition.Let me push it harshly.
Zaki  : Hey pal, move out! That fence is...
Andi : Huh? Whaa!...*wham*...
Zaki : See? I’ve warned you. Don’t touch that fence.It’s still unnailed.
Andi  : Argh... Darn it. You’re so late in warning someone.
Zaki : Stop blaming me. You’re just adding more job for me to repair whole of this house. Now get the hell out of here. Shoo, shoo!
Andi : I don’t need your command, just shut your hole and eat your own work. I’m out of here.
Zaki : Yeah... See you in hell.
3.      What do you think about the activity during the lesson?

I think the lessons taught by the revelation Miss Wahyu very useful and easy to understand for us, teaching and patient disposition worthy giving appreciation, I hope miss can teach us another revelation not as ppl but as a permanent English teacher at our school…
